Full Moon at Sunrise
By: Caitlin MacCutcheon
Day breaks on the ocean
the red sun
reflects off the water
we sit and watch the waves form
their sudden rise has been building for miles
the crash,
the sound,
the seagull
morning song
Drunk boys strip naked in the light of the new day
A full moon at sunrise
Whiskey laughter drowns out saltwater roar
It seems to say
“Good Morning world, we have not been to sleep yet.”
The stillness of the morning disturbed
the peaceful innocence of dawn
polluted
but at least it will be a good story to tell.
