Journeying into Self-Love

By: Pamela Loperena

Like a peony,

blooming from

the hairline cracks

of the earth,

you must foster

healing light

in your own

wounded

heart.

Take the time,

to appreciate your flaws—

the little imperfections

which make you even more

beautiful.

Weed out,

the self-sabotage, pain,

and venom,

poisoning your sacred

reflection,

but forgive yourself for

ever feeling these

unkind

thoughts.

Believe that you are enough

for the world’s eyes to behold,

and cherish your body as if it’s

the best blessing

that life can ever offer

you.

Breathe deeply,

soaking in every

vibration and color

of your essence,

to search for the

lonely heartbeat,

lacking in

luster.

Reclaim your truth—

the vigor and purpose,

your soul’s been

running away from,

far too long.

Awaken your peaceful eyes,

noticing roots

growing out of the

oceans

of your

meandering

teardrops,

and realize that

the first step

into flourishing,

is accepting that

you deserve

unconditional love

for yourself,

before you can

give love

freely and fully to

anyone

else.

Feminist and Proud

By Sarah Cunningham I don’t enjoy sharing my opinion with others. Actually as a rephrase, I used to enjoy sharing my opinions with others. Anyone can agree that having a conversation with those who have extreme mentalities and are eager to argue is unbearable. It definitely seems that I’ve had way too many of those.… Read more
