Strong Enough

“Strong Enough”
The lights are somewhat on, but as you turn
The faucet, it becomes abundantly
Clear that the water has been turned off. “Learn
From your mistakes,” is what they yelled loudly
As you foolishly ran off into the
Unknown. You have a bed half as small as
The one at home. On your walls, you can see
Posters of bands whose concerts you would have
Never attended, and on your desk, you
Have stacks of papers filled with notes and free
Info on clubs that you’ll try out as proof
Of your liberty. Still, it looks to me
Your lights are on but the water is off;
You just haven’t learned that you’re strong enough.
